OPEN ON: EXT. CRYSTAL LAKE - MORNING A smoky haze hangs low over the water, giving the lake the appearance of an endless sea. SLOW MOTION - JASON VOORHEES'S head breaks the surface, and once again he begins the ascent from his watery grave - this time, in his severed fingers, clutching the decapitated head of FREDDY KRUEGER like a trophy. FREDDY (V.O.) The children...the miserable children. Thanks to them I'm dead again. But Hell won't have me this time...now HE has me. Jason steps onto the mossy shore with the gaping noggin. Freddy's disembodied voice continues to narrate the trek: FREDDY (V.O.) (CONT'D) Jason ruined everything...and now he refuses to let me go...I'm just another of his fucking victims!! (beat) But... As Freddy's head fills the frame, he WINKS directly at us. WIDE - We now see that this is the twisted bog of Jason's mind - lightning arcs across the darkened sky as day abruptly shifts to night, the gnarled remains of splintered trees jutting up from the water. Jason is climbing up a mud-packed hill of heads and limbs - this part of his psyche is built upon the memories of his kills, his victims; his tributes to Mother. Atop the monument sits a crude shack. Planted in the hill at a crazy angle, the shack's door hangs open lazily. Jason passes through. INT. SHACK A violin rests on the tattered bed (she used to play for him) And a neglected teddy bear lies on the mud-spattered floor (he squeezed it tight on storm-wrought nights like this one) There's a closet door. It can't possibly lead anywhere; it's in the shack's rear wall. Yet when Jason opens it, we see an endless sea of mutilated corpses. Freddy will be laid to rest here, with the most obscene of Jason's victims. FREDDY (V.O.) Looks like I'm not the only collector... His head spirals through the wall of water and into the sea of souls, floating past Charlie Linderman and Robert Campbell, bouncing off the forehead of the similarly-mangled Julius. Freddy's head turns toward us, and his mouth seems to OPEN WIDER... CUT TO: EXT. CRYSTAL LAKE POLICE DEPARTMENT - NIGHT CLPD headquarters sits on Crystal Lake's Main Street. It doesn't appear to be too late, yet the streets are deserted; in fact, as we CRANE DOWN toward the station's facade, we can see that the windows of several businesses have been shattered. Sparks erupt from the front of an electronics repair outlet. This is the aftermath of a riot...or something worse. There is a single police car parked in front of the station, and a young deputy named BERG is shoving armloads of weaponry and ammunition into it. A CLPD Jeep tears onto the street, crunching over broken glass and debris. BERG Shit. The Jeep rolls to a stop behind the cruiser, blocking him in. HOLLY NOBLE, another deputy with a shock of long blonde hair and a serious attitude behind her baby-blues, jumps out and slaps Berg's arm. NOBLE Berg, what are you doing?? BERG I'm getting the fuck out of here like everyone else! NOBLE This isn't your car! Those aren't your guns! BERG I was just up on Lakeview Road, Noble! Those kids in the Suburban got run into a tree and hacked to pieces! I'm not taking any chances! He tries to get into the cruiser but she manhandles him aside, grabbing a stolen shotgun. BERG Hey!! NOBLE If you're running, then at least leave me this. Berg's having an attack of conscience. He digs his hands into his hair and groans. BERG Crystal Lake is DEAD, Noble! NOBLE So where are you going then? BERG Haddonfield! He grabs a batch of paperwork from the dashboard. BERG (CONT'D) They're looking for cops like us out there. NOBLE They need cops like us right here. BERG Shit. (beat) Shit. (beat) All right! What the hell do you wanna do? NOBLE The camp. BERG Oh, hell no. She starts jamming shells into the shotgun. NOBLE Three years is long enough. I want my town back. BERG All right, but I'm driving. She shoots him a dirty look. BERG Aw c'mon! CUT TO: EXT. LAKEVIEW ROAD - NIGHT The wind kicks up, scattering autumn leaves across the Jeep's windshield. Behind the wheel, Noble smiles grimly. Berg grips either side of his seat with a deathly expression. EXT. CAMP CRYSTAL LAKE - CONTINUOUS As is immediately evident by the debris strewn around the defunct campground, Lake Crystal Resorts was a dream never realized. The Jeep comes to a stop. Getting out, Berg kisses his Haddonfield paperwork and sets it in his seat. BERG I'll be right back. Noble checks her service pistol and slips it into its holster. She stuffs bullets into every available pocket and loads a second pistol. NOBLE All right. Switching on the Jeep's high beams, Noble heads into the campground. NOBLE Stay right behind me! BERG Yeah, right. He draws his pistol and follows. INT. CABIN The two deputies creep past the empty window. The POV within shifts slightly. EXT. CAMP CRYSTAL LAKE Noble senses something. She stops dead in her tracks, leaving Berg to scratch his head. BERG What is it? NOBLE I thought I heard something. BERG That's...not good. She turns to glance over his shoulder. Jason's enormous machete streaks into frame from the right, pinning Berg to the cabin wall! Noble stares in horror at her fallen partner, while he stares at the blade spearing his stomach. She turns to see Jason standing a hundred yards away. JASON The three years since we last saw him have not been kind. His tattered clothing is streaked with grime, and bone is plainly visible through several of the rips. His gray flesh has dried out and split along his skull; his mask now bears several cuts and bullet holes. His eyes are as alive as ever, though, and right now they're fixed on Holly Noble. She fires the shotgun. A chunk of flesh flies away from his hip. That's Jason's cue to start forward. Noble fires again the again, each hit taking a considerable bite out of Voorhees's bulk, but utterly failing to slow him down. Jason's fingers clench as he longs for the feel of the machete. Shotgun's empty. Noble draws both pistols and dumps twenty rounds into Jason at a rapid clip. Blood mists from his chest, dotting the hockey mask. The pistols' ammo was expended far faster than expected, and had zero effect. He's too close to make a break for it. She turns and grabs the machete handle. Berg jolts back to life as she tries to pry the blade out! He screams, swiping at her, blood jetting from his wound. NOBLE SHUT - THE - FUCK - UP!!! She wrenches the machete free and pivots- - Handing it right to Jason. He snatches the weapon away and examines it briefly. Noble slumps to the ground beside Berg. She pulls a grenade from her vest - a stun grenade. Glaring up at Jason, she pops the pin. He rears back with the machete. Noble screams- - Just as the blade slides into her mouth, the grenade goes off with a flash of light and a deafening BOOM that kicks Jason through the air! He slams into a tree and drops. Holly Noble's sizzling stump of an arm settles by her side. From her dead POV, we zoom erratically into the eye sockets of Jason's mask - Freddy's enraged SCREAM building to a crescendo. CUT TO: INT. CRYSTAL LAKE - DREAM WORLD Jason is standing knee-deep in the murky dream-bog. He seems disoriented; shaking his head, he looks up at the shack. It EXPLODES. Jason is sprayed with bits of wood and scrap metal. He staggers but manages to stay on his feet. Now he sees that Freddy - in his glowering DEMON form - is responsible. Krueger saunters down the hillside, clicking his monstrously-oversized claws. FREDDY Miss me? Jason is momentarily stunned, but his own rage swells and he stands tall with machete in hand. FREDDY You gave me just what I needed, boy. All the fear you caused, all the souls you claimed - they're MINE now! He splashes down in the water and splays his claws. FREDDY C'MON!! Jason starts toward him. Freddy reaches behind his back and plucks a femur from the hillside. FREDDY I've got a bone to pick with you, Jason- -! Femur meets machete and Freddy takes the opportunity to stick Jason repeatedly with the claws. Black blood spots the water. Jason knocks the bone aside and slams the machete's hilt into Freddy's face. Broken teeth join the bits of femur scattered across the mud. Jason swings - Freddy ducks - he strikes Jason's leg and catches the blade across his spine. Freddy roars and backhands Jason with unexpected strength, throwing him across the bog. Krueger laughs uproariously. FREDDY I've got all the power I need to haunt the dreams of my children. (beat) But that's not good enough. As Jason sits up in the water, Freddy runs toward him and delivers a slashing uppercut! FREDDY I want the best of BOTH worlds, Jason! He grabs the masked maniac and dunks his head under! FREDDY Just relax! Jason struggles fiercely, but he's no match for the super powered dream stalker. Freddy grins sadistically as blood runs over his jagged fangs. UNDERWATER Defiantly shaking his head one last time in a spray of bubbles, Jason finally comes to rest. UP ABOVE Freddy rears back and slams his claws through Jason, howling in triumph! CUT TO: EXT. CAMP CRYSTAL LAKE - NIGHT Jason's body sits up - he holds out his right hand, discarding the machete... And four razor-sharp claws BURST from his fingertips. Jason is no longer Jason. He's been possessed. He is now THE REVENANT. The Revenant stands up and walks with a familiar swagger across the campground. He pauses to regard the deputies' corpses. Approaching the Jeep, he seems to be considering getting behind the wheel. Nah. But he does pause to pick up a sheaf of paperwork. The Revenant's POV focuses in on a few key phrases: "Haddonfield, Illinois" "Michael Myers has been dead for 3 years now" "Youth still at risk" "Gripped by fear" As he crumples the paper, the Freddy-claws tear THROUGH it and come straight at us. FREDDY VS JASON VS MICHAEL FADE IN: EXT. HADDONFIELD MEMORIAL HOSPITAL - NIGHT The hospital is on fire. Townspeople are thronged around the blaze as firefighters and police try to maintain control. An 18-year-old girl with jet-black hair and haunting eyes, SABRINA, weaves through the crowd in graceful slow motion. She stares, transfixed by the flames, and then sees the Sheriff inside, a middle-aged man leaping through a fire filled corridor, trying to escape. Running to her. The SHAPE steps into the Sheriff's path - his pale death-mask blackened by soot, his back ablaze - and slams a butcher knife into the cop's chest! SABRINA DADDY!!! CUT TO: INT. SABRINA'S BEDROOM - NIGHT She sits up with a shriek. Seconds later, her mother, PATRICIA, and a man who is most certainly not the Sheriff enter the bedroom. PATRICIA Are you all right? Another nightmare? SABRINA Y-yes. I'm fine. She lies back down to return to sleep, and rolls her eyes as the man switches the light on. MAN Do you want to talk about it? SABRINA No, Doctor, I said I'm fine. PATRICIA Sabrina... SABRINA Can I just go back to sleep? I have school. The man gives Patricia an understanding nod, and they back out. CUT TO: INT. KITCHEN - MORNING Sabrina is in a rush to get out. As she plows through the kitchen, her mother catches her arm. PATRICIA You going to eat anything? SABRINA I have to maintain my waifish figure, Mother. PATRICIA Sabrina, I called the school yesterday to schedule an appointment with your counselor. SABRINA Oh my God. PATRICIA They didn't have your name on file. This is worse than the girl thought. She lowers her head. PATRICIA Your name's Fenton now. SABRINA No, the Doctor's name is Fenton. My name is Sullivan. PATRICIA Was the nightmare about your father? Sabrina can see that her mom's only trying to help. She drops her backpack and sits down. SABRINA Yes. PATRICIA I don't understand these dreams. You know he survived the fire. SABRINA He could have died. He could have died then, he could die tomorrow, he could die today. And you wouldn't care. PATRICIA Of course I would! SABRINA Forget it, I'm gonna be late. PATRICIA I'd like you to talk with... SABRINA I didn't ask for a stepdad and I didn't ask for a live-in shrink. Okies? She gives her mom a tight-lipped smile and walks out. CUT TO: EXT. STREET - MORNING Haddonfield still has its picture-perfect Middle American neighborhoods, despite all it's been through. Sabrina smiles as leaves crunch under her feet, lost in a childhood memory. SUPERIMPOSE CAPTION: "October 30, 2005." Sabrina's trendy girlfriend, TARA, and Tara's significant other DOUG sneak into frame behind her. TARA Happy Halloween!! SABRINA Jesus Tara!...Don't do that. TARA Sorry, I just knew you'd be expecting it tomorrow. DOUG How's my favorite teenage witch? SABRINA I'm serious now, DON'T do that. She can't help but crack a smile, though. Doug puts an arm around each girl. DOUG Ladies, Halloween has returned to our fair township and I, for one, think it's our duty to show the youth how it's done. TARA What do you mean? DOUG I mean the party to end all parties. I mean an All Hallows' Eve kegger that will raise the dead. TARA Ooooh, kegger. SABRINA Are you gonna break out the whipped cream Slip N' Slide again? DOUG Okay, that was ONE mistake. And that kid's fine now as long as he wears his helmet. Tara slugs Doug and he kisses her. The faintest tinge of jealousy flashes in Sabrina's eyes. SABRINA C'mon, we've gotta run. We're late! She takes off and Doug chases after her, scooping her into his arms. CUT TO: EXT. HADDONFIELD HIGH - DAY At lunch, Sabrina sits on the lawn near the sidewalk with Tara, Doug, and CAITLIN & IAN. Caitlin is a shy brunette and boyfriend Ian is Tara's lanky twin. TARA So, tomorrow night. What's the plan? DOUG Your brother here is the brainiac. How 'bout it, Ian? IAN The Halloween ban was in place for sixteen years. If we're not careful, they'll reinstate it like that. DOUG Dude, the ban wasn't to keep kids out of trouble, it was to keep 'em from getting butchered. Michael Myers is dead. TARA Sabrina can sweet-talk her dad, can't ya honey? SABRINA I don't know. Not about this. CAITLIN Did you guys hear about the cult thing? There are a bunch of Myers worshippers running around Haddonfield. DOUG That's bull. If anyone in this town deserves a cult following it's me. IAN Caitlin's right, I heard about that too. SABRINA That's just one of the many urban legends our community's been blessed with. Best not to bring it up. Punctuating her remark is the squawk of a police siren. An HPD cruiser pulls up to the curb. SABRINA (embarrassed) Dad... SHERIFF SULLIVAN gets out, hitching up his belt and nodding to the kids. SHERIFF SULLIVAN I take it you're planning tomorrow night's mischief. DOUG Absolutely not. SHERIFF SULLIVAN Doug, I understand that you were in Vincent's this week trying to get them to rent you a keg. DOUG Um, er... The sheriff offers a "boys will be boys" smile, but Sabrina is already trying to head him off. SABRINA Nice seeing ya Dad, I'll call you. SHERIFF SULLIVAN Well hold on now! She wrestles him back to the cruiser, lowering her voice. SABRINA We're just gonna throw a party, that's all. (raising her voice) There will be no alcohol. SHERIFF SULLIVAN And do you have a date for this party? SABRINA Dad... SHERIFF SULLIVAN Hmm? SABRINA No. SHERIFF SULLIVAN Why not? It's not like every guy in town is taken. SABRINA I know. Her gaze wanders a bit, and her dad casts a knowing glance at Doug. SHERIFF SULLIVAN Some of them are taken, baby. SABRINA I know. SHERIFF SULLIVAN I want you to enjoy yourself. If you refuse, I'll just go ahead and ban Christmas. She smiles and gives him a tiny hug. SABRINA I'll call you, okay? SHERIFF SULLIVAN Okay. He kisses her forehead and gets back into the car. DOUG Thanks for the help there, Brin. SABRINA Please, I know a store in Dwight that's been suspected of selling to minors for years. Dad told me about it. She winks and heads into the school. CUT TO: EXT. 1428 ELM STREET - EVENING WILL ROLLINS rakes leaves in the front yard. Muscular, trim and decidedly less troubled, Will pauses to survey the block with a smile. LORI ROLLINS walks out the front door with a cordless phone. LORI Will honey? Phone. She hands it to him and rests her hands on his shoulders as he talks. WILL Hello? Hey Al...sure, but just for tonight. Okay, bye. He hangs up and turns to kiss Lori, speaking into her mouth. WILL They need someone to cover the night shift. LORI Ohhhhhhhhh! He shrugs and walks with her to the house. WILL I promise I'll be here tomorrow night. LORI And the night after that? WILL Yes. LORI And the night after that? WILL Yes. LORI And- - He silences her with another kiss on the front stoop. They're such a cute couple. CUT TO: INT. 1428 ELM STREET - FRONT HALL Lori pauses to sift through the mail as Will heads upstairs. The sunset dims, throwing the house into shadow. INT. MASTER BATH Will pulls off his T-shirt and starts up the shower. Grabbing a denim shirt and a red tie, he sets them down beside the sink. INT. KITCHEN Taking a small box from the countertop, Lori smiles mischievously and disappears down the hall. INT. MASTER BATH Will lathers up, covering his face just as the door creaks open. WILL You wanna jump in here before I head out? He grins and waits. No answer. WILL I'll take that as a...no? The curtain tears back. He wipes the suds from his eyes. It's The Revenant! He grabs Will's face with the trademark grin still frozen on it. Will's head is bashed against the tile. He grabs onto the curtain in a futile attempt to shield himself; the Freddy claws stab through the translucent material. Will's scream is muffled by the monster's hand. INT. STAIRS Lori peers up the stairs. LORI Honey? She starts up. The house has fallen silent now. The bedroom door is closed; she knocks lightly. LORI Sweetie? Lori pushes the door open. In the dark room, Will lies facedown on the bed, nude, his back a grid of brutal slash marks. Lori screams and backs out of the room - The Revenant waits in the hallway! He stabs at her, planting his claws in the wall as she ducks in the nick of time. Slipping and sliding, she now sees that the hardwood floor is streaked with blood. He strikes again, slashing her shoulder; she plunges over the railing, tumbling head over heels to the floor below. Rolling over, hair matted to her forehead by blood, Lori sees The Revenant making his slow descent. LORI Jason- -! She notices the claws for the first time. LORI NO!! She backs down the hall into the KITCHEN And grabs at the back door with bloody hands. She can't get a grip. She's losing consciousness. The Revenant is upon her. LORI Please... He slams the claws into her stomach, staring into her eyes. His eyes are white, demonic...Freddy's eyes. The knives pull out amidst rivers of blood, and The Revenant steps back to admire his handiwork. PAN OVER from Lori's corpse to the pregnancy test on the counter. Positive. CUT TO: INT. SABRINA'S HOUSE - DEN That evening, Sabrina, Tara, Doug, Ian & Caitlin are slouched on various chairs and couches. A black teen, DELLA, picks at an orange candle while Doug pleads with her. DOUG C'mon. The farm's been abandoned for years. What would your mom care? DELLA It's a piece of Haddonfield history, not a frat house. DOUG PLEEEEEAAASE. TARA Lay off her, she doesn't want to ask. DELLA There's no point. My mom would never let me throw a party at Tower Farm. DOUG Okay, so don't ask. Problem solved. Hispanic MANNY lurches into the den, waving a six-pack. SABRINA Put that down! My mom's upstairs. MANNY It was in your fridge though. Sabrina snatches the beers and heads into the kitchen. Manny plops down beside Tara. MANNY Are we set? DOUG No. MANNY Della. DELLA Manny. MANNY You'd be a legend if you let us do this. All those kids who think you're just a rich bitch would lighten up, you know? DELLA No, I don't know. Who thinks I'm a rich bitch? MANNY Uh, I forget. IAN We need her mom's OK. It ain't gonna happen. DELLA Well... Doug leans forward excitedly. DELLA (CONT'D) If you were willing to do some volunteer work for the city council, maybe I could talk her into it... Doug sticks his tongue out and makes a fart sound. DELLA Fine, nevermind. MANNY Wait wait wait wait wait. You got it. Right Doug? DOUG Yeah, I guess. MANNY Then it's on! Sabrina walks back in. He slaps her ass. MANNY Bring me a beer, will ya babe? SABRINA Never touch me again. MANNY So you're not going to the party with me? EXT. SABRINA'S HOUSE - CONTINUOUS A STALKER POV watches through the window, just over the hedge line, as the teens talk. INT. DEN IAN Me and Caitlin are gonna get some air. He takes her hand and leads her out. TARA You really ought to see about getting a boy toy of your own, Brin. SABRINA Not interested. Especially when the Doctor psychoanalyzes every guy I bring home. TARA You haven't brought anyone home. Sabrina shoots her a glare. DOUG Your stepdad does what now? SABRINA He's a doctor up at Smith's Grove, where Michael Myers was locked up. Spends all day with little Myers wannabes. MANNY Cool. SABRINA No. CUT TO: EXT. SABRINA'S HOUSE - NIGHT Ian and Caitlin are getting hot & heavy on the porch swing. She eases herself out from under him. IAN What's wrong? CAITLIN It's creepy out here. IAN It's just like any other night of the year. Besides, you've got me to protect ya. He starts kissing her neck. She glances out into the street. CAITLIN'S POV - A dark SHAPE steps behind a tree. CAITLIN Ian! IAN What?! CAITLIN Someone's watching. IAN Where? CAITLIN Right across the street. I saw someone, I swear. IAN Cate, you've made a lot of excuses in the past but this is pathetic. CAITLIN Okay, get off of me. OFF. She shoves him aside and stomps down the porch steps. IAN Oh, so it's not too creepy to walk home alone, huh? (beat) Lemme give you a ride! Cate? TRACK Caitlin as she walks out of his sight, hugging her arms to her chest. Ian gets up and brushes himself off. IAN Nice guys finish last, I guess. He goes inside. CUT TO: EXT. ANOTHER STREET - NIGHT Caitlin is beginning to regret standing up to Ian. She stops on the lonely street and considers turning back. CAITLIN No way, Caitlin. No fucking way. Reaffirmed, she continues on. A smile comes to her face as she passes a house with a trio of jack-o'-lanterns grinning from the stoop. CU - Once she's passed, all the jack-o'-lanterns' candles flicker out. And a dark figure steps past them. Caitlin glances back again. Now she REALLY regrets leaving the house. CAITLIN Is somebody there? (beat) Ian?... She starts walking backwards. CAITLIN (CONT'D) You think this is funny after what just happened? Is this your idea of an apology? Asshole. She turns and runs right into a shape! It's a cloth ghost hanging from a tree branch. Caitlin squeals, curses, and steps back to catch her breath. CAITLIN Stupid. She punches the ghost. It swings aside, revealing THE SHAPE, who slams the entire business end of a butcher knife into her heart. SMASH CUT TO: INT. SABRINA'S BEDROOM Sabrina sits up with a start. She's just had another nightmare. Bathed in sweat, she turns on her bedside lamp and fans herself. She walks over to her window and raises the curtains to let some air in. Something in the yard below steps out of view...or does it? She's trying to get a clear look when the door opens behind her. DR. FENTON Everything okay? SABRINA Yes. She slides quickly back underneath her covers. DR. FENTON Can I talk to you for a second? SABRINA Well... DR. FENTON Tomorrow's not a school day. He smiles and pulls her desk chair over. DR. FENTON Look, I've told you that I have no interest in replacing your dad. I do want to be there for you, though. SABRINA I don't need anyone. DR. FENTON I know you want to believe that. She scowls. He throws his hands up. DR. FENTON Sorry, sorry, I'm not your shrink either. I know. SABRINA Doc - I mean, Miles... DR. FENTON Your dad is still here. And you know that I have no problem with your seeing him. Neither does your mother. So why are you having these nightmares? SABRINA I don't know. DR. FENTON Do you want something to help you sleep? SABRINA You can't do that, can you? DR. FENTON Sure. It's the least I can do. He's really making an effort. Sabrina shrugs and nods. DR. FENTON Okay. I'll be right back. Then you can get some sleep. She stares into space as the last word echoes. DR. FENTON (V.O.) Sleep...sleep...sleep... FREDDY (V.O.) Sleep... CUT TO: EXT. CRYSTAL LAKE - DREAM WORLD Jason's body bobs to the surface of the lake. He floats facedown, unmoving. Then he bursts to life, tearing out of the water in a panic! SWEEP AROUND Jason to reveal that he's now in the BOILER ROOM Standing in an oily pool in the bowels of the nightmare sanctuary. Demon Freddy laughs from a walkway overlooking the pool. FREDDY This body ain't big enough for the both of us, Jason! Jason sloshes around, looking for a stairway, a ladder - nothing. He's trapped. He looks up and is struck by a stream of urine. FREDDY (O.S.) Don't piss me off! Pointing a claw at Voorhees in warning, Freddy backs out of view. CUT TO: EXT. STREET CORNER - DAY Ian, Manny and Doug wait outside a huge Victorian, one of the town's oldest landmarks. SUPERIMPOSE CAPTION: "October 31, 2005" "Halloween" Della comes out of the manse and down the cobbled walk. DOUG Well? DELLA Okay. MANNY Yeah!! DELLA But - you have to keep your end of the bargain. DOUG Sure, sure. Let's go tell everybody. He slaps Ian's chest. DOUG What's with you, man? IAN Caitlin didn't come home last night. DOUG Oh. Shit. MANNY You piss her off? IAN Yeah. She places emphasis on "Doug", taking Sabrina's arm protectively. Corey picks through her basket. COREY Aw, you gonna go trick-or-treating around the neighborhood? CEMETERY - MORNING Grizzled old deputy Ziggy waves Sheriff Sullivan through the gates with a flashlight. He leads him past rows of tombstones covered with undergrowth. ZIGGY I thought this business was over and done with. SHERIFF SULLIVAN So did I. ZIGGY You don't look like it. SHERIFF SULLIVAN Hmm? ZIGGY You look like you haven't slept in days. Sullivan shrugs and nods. SHERIFF SULLIVAN So what've we got? Ziggy stops and points into a corner shrouded by weeping willows. There's a spot where a headstone SHOULD be - but it's been uprooted and taken. The earth in front of it appears to have been disturbed as well. SHERIFF SULLIVAN Myers's grave. ZIGGY Think it's that cult nonsense we been hearing about? SHERIFF SULLIVAN There is no cult. He kneels and scoops up a handful of fresh dirt. SHERIFF SULLIVAN Call Roger. I want it dug up. ZIGGY You're kidding. SHERIFF SULLIVAN NOW, Ziggy. The deputy mutters to himself and trudges off. CUT TO: INT. TOWER FARM - BARN - MAIN FLOOR On a rickety ladder ascending into the hayloft, Ian fixes a stream of orange-and-black crepe paper to the rafters. The stream stretches across the barn to Della, who is hanging the other end. Doug pulls a mass of cobwebs from a corner and yelps as a spider crawls onto his hand. DOUG Fuck! Shit! Fuck. Tara and Sabrina enter with bags of goodies. DOUG I didn't know there were fucking spiders in this place. DELLA Doug? Abandoned barn? He turns to flip her off and is terrified by a rubber spider dangling from Tara's fingers. DOUG You KNOW- - She silences him with a kiss. IAN Hey Brin, you haven't heard from Caitlin have you? SABRINA No. IAN Huh. TARA (to Doug) You didn't invite Corey Cadman, did you? DOUG I invited everybody. TARA Ugh. DOUG What? MANNY Yo! Manny enters with a case of beer under one arm. DOUG No way that's gonna be enough for the party. MANNY This is for right now, man! He cracks open the case. Ian scampers down the ladder to get a cold one. Manny drops into a pile of hay and nods to Sabrina. MANNY Comfy. SABRINA You don't say. DELLA There will be no - I repeat, NO - sex at this party. MANNY Doesn't sound like a party to me, Del! IAN I think she's got a good point. He gives the others an ominous look. TARA Oh boy. IAN It was Halloween night, 1963. DOUG Shut uuuuuuuuup. IAN (CONT'D) Judith Myers and her boyfriend were making love. Six-year-old brother Michael watched, knife in hand. (beat) After the boy left, Michael followed Judith upstairs to her bedroom...and there, stabbed her to death. Popping the tab on his beer, Ian takes a long swig then resumes his theatrical narration. IAN Three years ago, on Halloween night, Michael Myers was brought into the morgue at Haddonfield Memorial. Only he wasn't dead. (beat) The ensuing melee resulted in a fire that consumed half of the hospital. Only then did Michael Myers finally burn to ash, while the citizens of Haddonfield watched. Sabrina walks away from the group. DELLA Ian, people died in that fire. IAN It was three years ago. SABRINA My dad almost died in that fire. IAN ...I'm sorry. Look, Halloween is back, right? Michael Myers is long gone. Ancient history. I won't bring it up again. TARA Thank you. IAN There is still the cult thing. TARA Jesus Ian!! IAN It's just a story! (takes another drink) Some people believe that Michael was cursed by a Celtic tribe. The curse of Thorn, they call it. He was forced to sacrifice his kin on the eve of Samhain, for the good of his family's tribe. DOUG You know, it's been a while since I last saw a Celtic cult bumming around town. IAN They could be anybody, Doug. Your parents, Doug. DOUG My parents are assholes. IAN The curse lives! He throws his hands out, dousing Tara with beer. IAN Sorry sis! DOUG Dope. DELLA There are some paper towels up at the house... She walks out with a shake of her head. CUT TO: EXT. BARN - LATER Sabrina exits the barn to see her dad's police cruiser rumbling through the field. He gets out and meets her halfway. SABRINA What's up Dad? SHERIFF SULLIVAN I'm afraid I've got some bad news. SABRINA Oh no, you're not. SHERIFF SULLIVAN Someone dug up Michael Myers's grave. SABRINA So? Didn't you expect that? SHERIFF SULLIVAN They took the body. And the headstone. Myers is gone. SABRINA He's still dead, right? Sullivan's countenance is unwavering. She stamps her feet. SABRINA You can't be serious! SHERIFF SULLIVAN Michael Myers isn't the only psycho out there. Now do you think any of your friends know anything about this? SABRINA No, never! Dad, are you really cancelling Halloween over this? SHERIFF SULLIVAN What choice do I have? This town just can't handle it. It's like an open wound. SABRINA Only if you ban it again. What will people think? Sheriff Sullivan called off Halloween because of a grave robber. C'mon, Dad. SHERIFF SULLIVAN You don't understand. SABRINA Yes I do. You're scared because of what happened three years ago. At the hospital. That hurt. Sullivan looks down at his feet. SABRINA (CONT'D) Daddy, he's gone. You're right here. We both have to realize that. The sheriff walks back to his car. Sabrina plants herself on the hood. SHERIFF SULLIVAN I've seen his face. SABRINA He's dead. SHERIFF SULLIVAN ...For you, right? SABRINA For me. SHERIFF SULLIVAN Okay. He hugs her and slips into the cruiser. SHERIFF SULLIVAN And I'll assume that's not MGD I smell on your breath. SABRINA Oh, no! SHERIFF SULLIVAN I'll be stopping by later tonight. She slides off the hood and lets him go. CUT TO: INT. FARMHOUSE - LIVING ROOM The dilapidated house had already been converted into party central: a sound system is rigged up all around the room, tables with unopened snacks are set up and hokey Halloween decorations hang from the ceiling. Della digs through a paper bag in the kitchen doorway, fishing out a roll of paper towels. The Shape crosses the living room in the B.G., slipping out of sight. She turns, scanning the room. DELLA Yes? There must not be anyone there. She's leaving when- - A streamer flutters down from the ceiling, scaring the shit out of her. She throws down the towels and grabs the streamer, trying to fix it back. DELLA A woman's work is never done. Glass tinkles elsewhere. DELLA Okay, I'm serious. Who's there? CU on the butcher knife slashing down through several streamers. It lands in her shoulder. Della screams and tears free of the blade. Orange and black crepe rains down around the Shape as he lunges at her. He plants the knife in her breast, and as she tries to twist away a gout of blood sprays the face of a cardboard witch. The Shape's fingers encircle her throat. She's lifted off the floor and run through again and again. The pitiless faces of the ghosts and ghouls around her are now speckled red. CUT TO: EXT. TOWER FARM - NIGHT The flavor-of-the-week rock song blasts through the night sky as teens congregate around the farmhouse. INT. BARN Wolfman Doug is tending bar beneath a cluster of Halloween lights. He taps a fresh keg and hands a white-faced Sabrina a drink. SABRINA No thanks. DOUG You not drinking tonight? SABRINA Somebody's gotta sweet-talk the sheriff, remember? DOUG Thanks for all your help. SABRINA Not a problem. They share a smile that lasts a second too long. Tara intervenes, taking the beer. TARA Have you seen how Della decorated the house? It's freaky. DOUG Maybe we can check it out later. He winks. TARA Ooooh, is that a promise? SABRINA I'm gonna head up there. See you guys later. Manny and his buddy TRISTAN stumble over to the keg. MANNY You talk to Brin for me, Doug man? DOUG Um...not yet. MANNY Well c'mon! We ain't got all night! Tristan's arm is taken by a lithe blonde in a devil costume, BRIANA. TRISTAN See ya man. MANNY Aw, look at that shit. CUT TO: INT. HADDONFIELD POLICE DEPARTMENT - CRIME LAB Sheriff Sullivan and a CSI stand over the open casket of Michael Myers. SHERIFF SULLIVAN So what did you want to show me? CSI Take a look at the condition of the interior. No wear, no stains or seepage. SHERIFF SULLIVAN What are you saying, Doyle? CSI I'm saying that there was never a body in this coffin. Sullivan's face darkens. He grabs his radio. SHERIFF SULLIVAN Muldoon, you copy? MULDOON (RADIO) Yeah Sheriff? SHERIFF SULLIVAN Do me a favor and go out to Tower Farm, make sure everything's all right. MULDOON (RADIO) Ten-four. CSI What about me? SHERIFF SULLIVAN You, get a hold of Miles Fenton up at Smith's Grove. CUT TO: INT. POLICE CRUISER - NIGHT Deputy Muldoon makes his way down a dirt road between rows of cornstalks. Suddenly, a devil and her leather-clad companion dart across the road, causing him to jam on his brakes. MULDOON Damn kids!! He trains his spotlight on the cornfield. They've vanished. He resumes driving. Then slams on the brakes again. The Revenant stands in the middle of the road. Muldoon scowls and throws open his door. EXT. ROAD MULDOON You kids want to get arrested? Is that it? That's it, isn't it? Putting his flashlight on the hockey mask, the deputy walks forward. MULDOON What's your name, buddy? C'mon, I'm not playing around. He comes face-to-face (or face to chest, rather) with The Revenant. MULDOON Well? Let's hear it. The Revenant's hand BLASTS through Muldoon's back, clutching his heart. REVENANT (in a distorted, broken voice) Freddy. One by one, the Krueger-claws shoot through the still-beating muscle - SHLK! SHLK! SHLK! SHLK! The dead cop slips off of the zombie's arm. He turns to stare into the cornfield. EXT. CORNFIELD - NIGHT Tristan has chased Briana to a broken-down tractor. She presses her back against the cold metal and unthreads her bustier. BRIANA Is this what you're after? TRISTAN Mm-hmm. He drops his pants. STALKER POV - As the teens make love, the Revenant's claws rise into the shot...and double in length. CUT TO: INT. FARMHOUSE - LIVING ROOM Sabrina stands alone by the refreshments, nodding her head in time to the music. Corey Cadman approaches her as Frankenstein's Monster. He gives her a suave grin. She grimaces. He pulls off the flat top Monster hair. COREY It's me, Corey. SABRINA I know. COREY I was just kidding about that dyke thing. She turns and gets some chips. COREY I like your costume, Sabrina. He slips his hands around her waist. She tries to break free but he tightens his grip. A hand clamps down on Corey's shoulder and jerks him back. MANNY I don't think the lady's interested. COREY Hey amigo, we were just having a conversation! You need to get your English straight before you go around- - Manny decks him in the jaw. Corey staggers back, and the rest of the crowd immediately takes notice. Corey just smiles and wipes a spot of blood from his lip. COREY All right ese. (to Sabrina) See you later. He parts the crowd, leaving his Frankenstein hair on the table. Manny puts it on and smiles at Sabrina. SABRINA Thank you. MANNY Anytime, amiga. CUT TO: EXT. CORNFIELD - NIGHT Tristan zips up his pants while Briana fusses with her hair. TRISTAN Let's go, they're probably on the last keg by now. BRIANA You're such a romantic. TRISTAN Huh? BRIANA Sure you don't want to hump me against the tractor again before you get plastered? Tristan hopefully begins to undo his pants. BRIANA Forget it. The Revenant's razor claws skewer Tristan! Briana shrieks and trips over a shard of metal, cutting her ankle. REVENANT Don't worry baby...Freddy's here. She struggles to her feet and limps into the corn, screaming. CUT TO: INT. BOILER ROOM Demon Freddy's head jerks sharply to the right at the sound of groaning pipeworks. WIDE - Jason has joined him on the walkway. INT. CORNFIELD The Revenant halts in his pursuit of Briana, mirroring Freddy, head jerking sharply to the right. INT. BOILER ROOM FREDDY You don't stand a chance against me! He leaps down the catwalk, swinging his claws at Jason's head. The masked maniac catches his wrist and folds it back with a brutal SNAP! FREDDY AAAAAAAARRRRGGHH!!! Jason seizes Freddy by the throat, trying to pry his head off. Krueger's neck stretches beyond reason, a few holes spreading and gushing black blood. INT. CORNFIELD The Revenant stabs himself in the gut. INT. BOILER ROOM Freddy & Jason break apart as the latter doubles over in pain. FREDDY You can't kill me - you ARE me! Jason is knocked back by a flurry of unseen punches, slashes appearing across his torso and masked face. Snapping his neck and wrist back into place, Freddy snarls. Jason slumps to the floor. The FREDDY RHYME fades in as Jason watches his nemesis advance, sung by a chorus of children: CHORUS One, two, Freddy's coming for you... Jason tries to shake himself into consciousness. The image of Freddy creeping down the catwalk swims before him. CHORUS Three, four, better lock your door...five, six, grab your crucifix... Freddy splays his claws wide - preparing to cut Jason to ribbons in one stroke. CHORUS Seven, eight, gonna stay up late... Freddy leans in, trying to catch Jason's unfocused eyes. CHORUS Nine, ten... Jason throws his fist out to block the claws - they saw straight through it, down his arm, to the elbow. CHORUS Never sleep again. The masked head falls back and stops moving. Then, in a surge of energy like never before, Jason brings his head SMASHING into Krueger's - sending the dream stalker flying over the railing! SMASH CUT TO: EXT. CORNFIELD Jason is AWAKE. He surveys the field in confusion. CUT TO: INT. BARN Doug looks up as Tara enters the barn, clutching her stomach. TARA Help me... DOUG What's wrong?? He runs to her and lets out a cry as blood spurts between her fingers. DOUG Oh Jesus! Tara laughs and tosses a crumpled tube of fake blood in his face. DOUG Real nice! TARA Just showing the youth how it's done. DOUG I've seriously about had it with you. TARA ...What are you saying? Briana shatters the atmosphere with an ear-splitting cry. BRIANA TRISTAN'S DEAD!! Doug and Ian run to her as she collapses. IAN Jesus! DOUG What happened?? BRIANA He's dead! IAN Who did it? BRIANA It was...Freddy. DOUG Who the fuck is Freddy? SHERIFF SULLIVAN (O.S.) All right!! The Sheriff is followed by other deputies. Doug kicks the keg over. SHERIFF SULLIVAN Party's over. Everyone out! Sabrina and Manny run into the barn. SABRINA Daddy?! SHERIFF SULLIVAN I just found one of my men dead on the access road. IAN Briana says that Tristan's dead. SHERIFF SULLIVAN Christ. Michael Myers is alive. IAN Caitlin Holdt is missing too. BRIANA No, it wasn't Michael, it was Freddy!! SHERIFF SULLIVAN Let's just get this place cleared out. EXT. CORNFIELD We watch from afar as cars begin peeling away from Tower Farm, police lights flashing all around the perimeter. It's the Shape who is watching. He breathes heavily... SHAPE'S POV - We see Sheriff Sullivan leading his daughter to his car. The Shape's fingers tighten around the handle of his knife. CUT TO: INT. SHERIFF'S CRUISER Doug, Tara, Ian and Sabrina sit silently in the back. SHERIFF SULLIVAN I don't know what the hell I was thinking lifting that ban. Just asking for trouble. (into rearview mirror) I'm taking you to Sabrina's house. I want you all to lock the doors and STAY THERE. You got me? CUT TO: EXT. SABRINA'S HOUSE - NIGHT Patricia and Dr. Fenton race out to meet the cruiser. DR. FENTON I just got a call from the station, Sean. SHERIFF SULLIVAN Miles, I need you to come with me. Pat, get the kids inside. PATRICIA Okay. SABRINA Can someone please explain what's happening? SHERIFF SULLIVAN All I know is that Michael Myers was never in that grave. He and Dr. Fenton get into the cruiser and speed off. CUT TO: INT. SABRINA'S HOUSE - DEN IAN So who's Freddy? DOUG Fuck if I know. (beat) Michael Myers is the reason that he became a doctor. SABRINA I didn't know that. PATRICIA He was Judith Myers's boyfriend...he was there just before she got killed. Ian and Sabrina exchange a stunned look. CUT TO: INT. GUEST BEDROOM Doug walks in and flops down on the bed, distraught over his fight with Tara. Sabrina peeps around the corner. SABRINA Is everything cool with you guys? DOUG No. He sits up, and she enters. DOUG Things haven't been cool for a while. I think we're... She kneels and kisses him. It's a light, warm kiss and he returns the gesture. SABRINA I'm sorry. DOUG It's okay. SABRINA I, um...I should... DOUG Yeah. He smiles, and she backs shyly from the room, shutting the door. Doug lies back and closes his eyes. INT. HALLWAY - CONTINUOUS Tara is right behind Sabrina, and she's livid. SABRINA Oh my God. Tara- - TARA I don't want to hear it. CUT TO: INT. TOWER FARM - BARN Deputy Ziggy pans his flashlight over the stable walls and crumbling hay bales. He hears feet shifting in the shadows and draws his pistol. MANNY Don't shoot, I'm a minority! Manny walks out with hands raised. ZIGGY Get the hell outta here! Go home! MANNY You bet. Alone, Ziggy resumes his search. EXT. BARN - NIGHT Manny races around the corner and runs smack into Corey Cadman. MANNY Heyyyy. COREY Hey ese. I was hoping you'd show. MANNY Really? COREY Yeah, I think you and I need to talk. MANNY Well, are you sure? Because I think, you know, I might need to brush up on my English first- - He tries to land another sucker punch but Corey ducks aside, slugging Manny in the groin. COREY Won't be necessary. Four razor claws shoot through his chest in a vertical row. No, not claws - the tines of a pitchfork, a pitchfork in the grip of Jason Voorhees. He lifts Corey out of the way, turning him upside-down while Manny gapes in horror. Then Jason plunges the tool at Manny - corpse and all - and the Latino barely manages to get out of the way. The tines sink into the barn wall. Ziggy barrels around the corner. ZIGGY DAMMIT - what the...? He draws a bead on Jason. ZIGGY Don't you friggin' move! Jason doesn't comply. He wrenches the pitchfork free of both barn and body. Ziggy fires, punching a hole through Jason's sternum. The only reaction is a spray of blood. ZIGGY Holy... He turns tail and runs for his life! MANNY HEY MAN!! Jason returns his attention to Manny, who bolts in the opposite direction. INT. POLICE CRUISER The deputy clambers into his seat and turns the engine on. The Shape sits up in the backseat. EXT. FARMHOUSE Manny scrambles toward his car, parked on the outskirts of the cornfield. A pair of headlights hits his back. MANNY Hello?! It's the police car. It begins rolling toward him. Jason steps between the cruiser and the teen with the intention of killing all parties. The car SLAMS into him. Jason rolls up the windshield, vaults over the roof and slams into the dirt on the other side. The cruiser keeps coming. Manny dives into the corn. EXT. CORNFIELD - CONTINUOUS He pumps his legs like a marathon runner on his last mile as the cruiser tears along in pursuit, nipping at his heels. MANNY What the fuck are you doing?! Manny suddenly drops out of view. EXT. ROAD The cruiser fishtails out of the cornrows and speeds off down the dirt road. In the cornfield, Manny sits up, breathless, in a dried-out irrigation ditch. MANNY No respect for a fucking Mexican in this town. He climbs out and makes for the road. CUT TO: INT. SABRINA'S HOUSE - BEDROOM Doug stirs from sleep as something like a fine hair falls across his face. He opens his eyes, and we PULL BACK to reveal Doug wrapped in a silken cocoon! FREDDY (V.O.) Doug, Doug, Doug. What a tangled web we weave. DOUG Who the fuck?? Lemme out of here! Enormous black legs come down on the bed, the legs of a fearsome arachnid. They're connected to a bulbous body mottled with scar tissue. Freddy's glistening pate breaks through the skin, leering at Doug. DOUG W-who are you?? FREDDY I'M the boogeyman. His jaws distend grotesquely, and monstrous mandibles tear through his cheeks. Doug screams his last scream. CUT TO: INT. DEN Tara is asleep on the couch. Ian and Sabrina crouch over a candle. IAN Somebody had to have known that Michael's grave was empty. SABRINA I don't want to believe it...but what other choice is there? IAN The cult's real. It's all real. SABRINA How can we prove it? IAN Your stepdad works at Smith's Grove. SABRINA So? IAN So they've got all the files on Myers! SABRINA Ian, no. IAN Yes. Does he have an extra key? SABRINA We're not going! SABRINA'S HOUSE - NIGHT Sabrina, Tara and Ian shiver in the cold. TARA This is bullshit. I'm gonna go get Doug. SABRINA No, he's sleeping upstairs. TARA Oh, that's right. You kissed him goodnight for me. SABRINA I don't want to wake my mom up. IAN Would you two drama queens shut the fuck up please? Manny jogs down the sidewalk, gasping for breath and waving his cell phone. IAN You run all the way here?? What happened man? MANNY Fuckin'...racist...cops... SABRINA You said Corey was dead. SANATARIUM - TREATMENT ROOM Briana brushes the hair back from her face while a young orderly shines a penlight into her eyes. Dr. Fenton and Sheriff Sullivan walk by, and the doctor doubles back. DR. FENTON Is she from the farm? ORDERLY Yessir. DR. FENTON (to Sullivan) Give me a moment, would you? SHERIFF SULLIVAN Sure. He excuses the orderly and rummages through a cabinet. DR. FENTON What's your name? BRIANA Briana. DR. FENTON You're safe now, Briana. I'm going to give you something to help you sleep, and then we'll let you rest here, okay? BRIANA I'm not crazy. DR. FENTON I know that. We just want to keep you safe. He turns with a syringe. She winces. DR. FENTON This is the safest place you can be right now. CUT TO: INT. CORRIDOR The four teens wander aimlessly down the hall. The doors are unlabeled, the walls and floors featureless. SABRINA I swear I know where his office is. She jingles a hefty keyring. IAN Let's try another office instead. Don't want to run into him. CUT TO: INT. TREATMENT ROOM Briana dozes off in her seat as Fenton cleans up. Her eyelids flutter...she opens them... She's bound in a straitjacket and stuffed into the corner of an enormous padded cell! FREDDY I wanna be your new boyfriend, Briana. She screams and kicks wildly at him, then curls into a ball, wracked with sobs. Freddy crouches beside her and taps his claws on his knee. FREDDY I like it here in Haddonfield. Did you tell all your friends about me like a good girl? He reaches out with a knife to brush her hair back. She withdraws even further into her ball. BRIANA P-please!! Freddy stands up and shrugs. As he steps back, the maniacs crowd in. FREDDY Don't want Freddy to be your boyfriend? Fine. Take your pick. They swarm over her. INT. TREATMENT ROOM Fenton turns with a start as Briana is yanked off her seat. Floating in mid-air, her clothes tear and her flesh is bruised by hundreds of finger marks! DR. FENTON Christ!! Her arm shoots straight out, fingers pointed at him. With a sickening crunch, three fingertips DISAPPEAR!! Briana shrieks. Fenton runs for the door. Jammed. The girl's spun around and forced to write on the wall in her own blood: FREDDY RULES DR. FENTON HELP!!! CUT TO: INT. COMPUTER LAB Ian parks it in front of a monitor and begins typing rapidly. IAN Okay, let's see what we've got on little Mikey Myers. MANNY Make it quick bro. IAN Here's his file...huge parts of it are missing. Entire years. I don't like this. TARA You know what? Me neither. Can we go now? IAN No! SABRINA Shhh!! IAN This is a nationwide criminal database...Manny. What'd you say about the guy that killed Corey? MANNY You mean hockey mask? IAN Right. (types) The only result for that is one Jason Voorhees of Crystal Lake. Mass murderer believed to have drowned as a child. A witnesses' sketch of Jason, complete with axe cut, comes up on the screen. MANNY That is the guy. That's the fucking guy! IAN Well, he's no Freddy. (types again) Fred Krueger? Child killer from Springwood? He died in '74 though. TARA This is pointless. She crosses her arms and trudges into the corner. Sabrina follows. TARA You are the last person I want to talk to right now. SABRINA I would never, ever hurt you on purpose. TARA It...fuck. It was Doug, not you. I know him. Sabrina wants to say something in Doug's defense, but she doesn't. SABRINA No matter what you're my best friend. TARA Right back at ya. MANNY Hey, let's just get outta here. IAN All right. C'mon, looks like someone got to Myers's file before we did. SHERIFF SULLIVAN What do you mean? He blocks the doorway with his imposing figure. They all freeze, reduced to cowering children in his stern eyes. SHERIFF SULLIVAN Who wants to explain this? SABRINA Dad- - SHERIFF SULLIVAN Anyone but you. He won't look at her. Ian stands up. IAN There's something going on here. Someone faked Myers's burial, someone deleted all these files. SHERIFF SULLIVAN Who? IAN I don't know. SHERIFF SULLIVAN Well I can't arrest "I don't know", can I? But I can arrest all four of you. IAN It's the Thorn cult! Tara sighs in defeat. IAN (CONT'D) They took Michael and faked his death so they could lay low for a while! Now they're back! SHERIFF SULLIVAN I think you all need to come with me right now. He pulls out his cuffs and slaps them on Ian. IAN Where does he go when it's not Halloween? How does he get around? How does he LIVE? It's this cult, I'm telling you! SHERIFF SULLIVAN Maybe I shouldn't take you to jail, Ian. Maybe there's a padded room for you right here! Ian tears away and takes off running with his hands cuffed behind his back. SHERIFF SULLIVAN STOP! INT. CORRIDOR - CONTINUOUS The Sheriff is in good shape but he can't keep up the desperate boy. Luckily, Ian collides with a blood-spattered Dr. Fenton. SHERIFF SULLIVAN Miles? What in God's name happened to you? DR. FENTON The girl...she's dead. IAN SEE?! He did it! DR. FENTON W-what? The others have joined them in the hall. IAN He was Judith Myers's boyfriend! He's part of the cult! That's why he works here! Fenton shakes his head and bloody hands. SHERIFF SULLIVAN Help me with him, Miles. They each get an arm and begin to wrestle Ian down the corridor. IAN Guys! You know I'm right! Help me! The others stand by in utter disbelief. SHERIFF SULLIVAN (O.S.) You all wait for me RIGHT HERE! There's an electronic buzz, and a pair of doors slam. The teens are alone. TARA Brin? Is it true? About your stepdad? MANNY Um. He touches their arms and points down the hall. The Shape is standing there, knife in hand, like a monolith; his featureless, dead stare unwavering. Then he begins a slow, deliberate stride towards his prey. SABRINA RUN!!! They head in the opposite direction, for the electronic doors that Ian was taken through. Of course, the doors are locked. Sabrina slams her fists against the card reader. Manny stabs his fingers at the keyhole in the door. MANNY Sabrina!! She pulls out the keyring and begins trying keys, her hands trembling. The Shape is slowly but surely closing the gap. Manny looks around frantically for a weapon. Being a mental hospital, there isn't anything lying around. MANNY Fuck! TARA How did he get in here?! SABRINA My stepdad let him in, that son of a bitch!! With that, the next key sinks into the lock and she twists it. The doors swing open. The Shape's grasping fingers brush Tara's hair as they run for it. ALL HELP!!! They slam into the next set of doors. MANNY Keys, keys... SABRINA I'm doing it!! Manny raises his fists and turns. MANNY Okay. TARA Manny, don't! MANNY Got no choice! TARA You can't BEAT UP Michael Myers! The Shape lowers his head and moves to strike. Manny feints left and lands a punch in his midsection. He throws an uppercut - it's caught in the Shape's fist, and Manny screams as his arm is twisted around. TARA NOOOO!!! He stares at her, pleading silently for help- - The tip of the butcher knife emerges between his eyes, and both turn dark red as his capillaries burst. Sabrina's got the right key! The doors open! Sheriff Sullivan shoves her aside and fires into the Shape. ONE! TWO! THREE! FOUR! FIVE! SIX! The killer is kicked down the hallway, sliding to a stop on his back. SHERIFF SULLIVAN Are you okay Sabrina? SABRINA Yes. Daddy, he's not dead. SHERIFF SULLIVAN I know. He has an almost-mournful look on his face as he holsters his weapon and walks towards the fallen Shape. SABRINA Where's Ian? Dad? SHERIFF SULLIVAN Get out of here now. SABRINA He'll kill you. SHERIFF SULLIVAN No he won't. The sheriff pulls a handful of dark rune stones from his jacket. SABRINA Oh my God. Dad. SHERIFF SULLIVAN I'm trying to set things right, you have to believe that. SABRINA Did you start the fire at the hospital? He places the stones on the Shape's chest. SABRINA You KILLED innocent people to cover this up!! SHERIFF SULLIVAN He can't be controlled! He was - whatever he is - BEFORE Thorn entered him! He's responsible for all this! Now you have to GO!! The lights turn panic-red as a fire alarm shrieks. SABRINA You did it again?! SHERIFF SULLIVAN He has to die! "Die" is punctuated by a rush of blood from Sullivan's lips as the sheriff's heart explodes, courtesy of the Shape's knife. Sabrina's bitter tears of betrayal are washed away by tears of grief. SABRINA DADDY!!! Sullivan falls on his back. Dead. Tara tugs Sabrina through the doors. The Shape sits up, brushing the rune stones to the floor. CUT TO: INT. ANOTHER CORRIDOR The girls' cries can barely be heard above the fire alarm. TARA They really made Michael Myers!? SABRINA No, they just made him unstoppable. We've gotta find Ian and Miles! They go through another set of doors into the LOBBY Where the security desk is ablaze. The main entrance is inaccessible. DR. FENTON (O.S.) Girls! Over here! Fenton and Ian are cuffed together on either side of a pipe running up the wall. DR. FENTON We need the handcuff keys! TARA No way. They're back there! She points to where the Shape is entering the lobby. IAN Ohhhhhhhhh SHIT! SABRINA We need a...an axe... PAN OVER to the axe in a glass cabinet on the wall. Jason Voorhees steps into the lobby and turns to the cabinet. "IN CASE OF FIRE, BREAK GLASS" SABRINA No no no NO! The Shape stares across the lobby at Jason, who claims the axe and returns the look. Across the flickering flames, Michael and Jason tilt their heads, sizing each other up. Michael's a good head shorter than Voorhees, but it makes little difference... They come at each other! Jason swings the axe. Michael catches his wrist and sinks the knife into Jason's side. With a bit of annoyance, Jason plucks the knife out and slashes it across Michael's chest. Then he buries the axe in his shoulder. IAN He's gonna kill Myers! Michael's fingers lock around Jason's throat. Incredibly, he lifts Voorhees off the floor. Jason finds himself fighting to break free. With his other hand, Michael pries the axe out of his shoulder - and SLAPS Jason with the blunt side of the blade, sending him reeling. Michael hurls the axe through the spreading blaze. SLOW MOTION - Jason cocks his head enough for the axe to miss him by scant inches. It lands in the wall near Fenton's head. Tara grabs it. Michael retrieves his knife. Jason scoops up a burning piece of timber and broadsides him with it. Neither of them has lost a shred of energy. He swings the plank again - Michael sticks it with the knife and yanks it from Jason's grip. Then he SHATTERS it across the hockey mask in a spray of splinters & flames. Jason grabs Michael's throat and a fistful of his boiler suit. He throws the Shape across the lobby, buckling the opposite wall. Tara breaks the handcuff chain with the axe. DR. FENTON Let's get out of here! SABRINA How?! Michael rises with a venomous glare; the rage is boiling in his veins. DR. FENTON Go behind Freddy! SABRINA Who? DR. FENTON Freddy!! Michael turns at the sound of the doctor's cries...hearing the name. SABRINA No, that's Jason! DR. FENTON Whatever! He shoves them forward. Tara, Ian and Sabrina streak past Jason. He turns just in time to grab Fenton. DR. FENTON Oh God! Sabrina, run! The butcher knife whistles into Fenton's throat. Jason drops him and stares at Michael in shock. With less-than-perfect efficiency, the sprinkler system comes on, cooling off the slashers. They circle one another in their now-smoldering arena. Jason clamps both hands around Michael's head. Lifts him up. Blood runs from the eyes of the Shape mask. Still, he just glares at Jason. Jason bashes Michael's head against the nearest sprinkler over & over. The sprinkler head snaps off in the back of Michael's skull. Voorhees tosses him aside, where he splashes into a pile of blackened debris and lies still. Jason heads after the kids. FADE TO: EXT. MYERS HOUSE - NIGHT We approach the house from a low POV - that of a child. It's in pristine condition, circa 1959, and the front door is wide open. We pass through the door and cross the front hall, past the stairs, going right into the LIVING ROOM Where 12-year-old JUDITH MYERS sits on the couch with a toddle cradled in her lap, watching TV. WIDE - The Shape has entered the house and he stands motionless, watching them watch TV, stunned. VOICE (O.S.) Michael. It's a tired, weary old voice, and the Shape turns to see someone descending the stairs: a man dressed in a trench coat, grasping a cane in his black-gloved hand. The face we're expecting is hardly the one that comes into view. It is the face of Fred Krueger - unscarred, unblemished. The human Freddy reaches the bottom of the stairs and smiles at the Shape. FREDDY Your sister, Michael. He walks past the Shape, unseen by Judith. FREDDY (CONT'D) She loved you. And you loved her, once, didn't you? Setting down the cane, Freddy stoops to pick up the cherubic toddle - revealing a gruesome array of stab wounds over Judith's torso. She suddenly looks into the Shape's eyes. JUDITH Why did you hurt me? The Shape stands stock-still, unblinking. Then he raises his knife to strike. FREDDY Aw, FUCK IT! His face morphs & his voice reverts to its gravely snarl as he HURLS the toddler through the window - and with a thunderclap, Judith vanishes and the house falls into gloomy decay, becoming its present-day self. FREDDY I thought you'd been retired, spook! Throwing off the trench coat, Freddy backhands Michael into the front hall. FREDDY I'm the new guy. The Shape starts to rise but Freddy grabs his head and PLOWS it through the bannister. Michael drops through a cloud of dust. Michael rises and takes Freddy's jaw in his hand, snapping his neck and sending the dream stalker's head spinning a full 180 degrees. FREDDY Oh, please. He twists back to glare at Michael and slams the finger knives into his abdomen. Seizing Freddy's arms, Michael smashes him THROUGH the wall! Back in the living room, Freddy brushes himself off, but his vanity costs him as the Shape buries the knife in his ribs and launches him through another wall. INT. KITCHEN - CONTINUOUS Freddy slams into the counter. Instantly, several shelves at his left and right fly open, and he grabs a handful of butcher knives in either hand. FREDDY You got ANYTHING else in this goddamn house?! He throws them all at once! INT. LIVING ROOM - CONTINUOUS Michael flies back with a dozen blades sticking out of his chest. He smashes through the front window and falls onto the porch. Sweeping the knives to the floor, he selects the biggest one. Freddy throws open the front door. Michael swings in an upward arc, catching a grinning jack-o'-lantern on the tip of the knife- - The pumpkin EXPLODES across Freddy's face, bathing him in flames! Krueger howls and tumbles over the porch railing. Michael peers over the edge: no yard, no neighborhood, just a bottomless darkness...and no Freddy. This is Michael's unknowable unconscious mind. BAM! Freddy lunges into view, grabbing Michael's shirt and hauling him over the railing. They both dangle precariously from the porch now, swiping at one another with their respective weapons. FREDDY You're an empty-headed fuck, Myers! Michael hacks right through Freddy's wrist. The gloved hand sails off into the dark. FREDDY GO GET IT!! He leaps from the railing, wrapping both arms around the Shape, and both fall into space. CUT TO: INT. SABRINA'S CAR - NIGHT Sabrina is frantic behind the wheel. The car won't start. Tara is alone in the backseat. She looks through the rear windshield and shrieks. TARA He's coming!! Jason exits the sanitarium and spots them immediately. SABRINA GOD PLEASE!!! The engine turns over! Outside, Jason quickens his pace. IAN Go go go! Sabrina drops it into gear and stomps on the gas. There's a huge THUMP on the roof of the car as they peel out. SABRINA What the fuck was that?! TARA He's on top of us! Jason's open palm smacks against the driver's-side window, turning the glass into a web. SABRINA What do I do? IAN Throw him off! Without warning Ian jerks the wheel sharply to the right. EXT. CAR - CONTINUOUS They barely avoid crashing into the sanitarium gates. Jason manages to cling to the roof. INT. CAR Tara grabs a tire iron off the floor; one end is tapered like a pry bar, and she grits her teeth, summoning all her strength... And shoves it through the ceiling. EXT. CAR The iron bursts out of Jason's lower back. He glances over his shoulder, eyes narrowing. INT. CAR Sabrina's window falls in, spraying them all. Jason grabs a handful of hair. IAN NO!! He wrestles with the monstrous hand while Sabrina tries to stay on the road. SABRINA I can't see, Ian! IAN I'm not gonna let him get you! EXT. ROAD The car tears off the shoulder, down an embankment and into the Lost River. INT. CAR The impact jolts them HARD. But Jason is nailed to the car via the tire iron. Water begins sweeping into the vehicle. Tara wrestles with the back doors. TARA I can't get out! Ian is still struggling with Jason's arm. Tara kicks out the rear windshield. TARA Ian! Sabrina!! IAN Just go! She doesn't need to be told twice. Tara slips past Jason's kicking feet and into the icy water. SABRINA Go Ian! IAN Fuck no! SABRINA Ian please!! The water is almost to their chins. Voorhees's head pops into view, upside-down, and stares at them. IAN FUCK YOU JASON!!! He socks the hockey mask. Jason's head actually reels back. He lets go of Sabrina's hair. Then he punches back, knocking her out. IAN Motherfucker!! The last syllable is garbled by the rising water. Ian dips beneath the surface to get Sabrina out of her seat. EXT. LOST RIVER - CONTINUOUS Tara screams at them from the shore. The car has begun to tilt, dunking Jason. Ian breaks the surface with an unconscious Sabrina in tow. He kicks furiously toward his sister. IAN Take her! Tara slips her hands under Sabrina's arms. SLOW MOTION - Jason soars out of the water, rising over Ian like a shark and slinging his arm around Ian's throat. Tara cries her brother's name as he disappears below the surface. INT. LOST RIVER Ian doesn't have a prayer. He paddles against Jason's will as they sink deeper, but each stroke grows weaker, and soon they are both gone. EXT. LOST RIVER Tara drags Sabrina away from the river's edge, shaking her violently. TARA Wake up, please! Wake up... ZOOM IN on Sabrina's face. SMASH CUT TO: INT. BOILER ROOM Sabrina rolls over on a catwalk, coughing up lungfuls of water. She fearfully takes in her surroundings. SABRINA Where am I? Michael SLAMS into the walkway just ahead of her, rattling its very foundations! Sabrina backpedals away from the slasher's body, just before Freddy drops onto it. His confused scowl quickly becomes a smile. FREDDY Another of my children. SABRINA Who...who are you... FREDDY What's the matter, haven't ya been paying attention? He walks over Myers like a black carpet, splaying his claws. FREDDY I'm Freddy. SABRINA Why are you doing this? FREDDY Because it's fun. He jabs the claws out at her, making her jump, and cackles. FREDDY You belong to me now. SABRINA What about Jason? It's an innocent enough question. But Freddy's face is contorted with unholy rage. FREDDY WHERE IS HE?!? CU - Michael's eyes snap open. Sabrina sees him stirring. SABRINA I-I can take you to him. CUT TO: EXT. LOST RIVER MARINA - NIGHT At the river's widest point, several motorboats and jetskis are moored to a large system of docks. Tara drags Sabrina toward the marina office. CUT TO: INT. BOILER ROOM Freddy's been fooled before and he's not taking any chances. His claws dance menacingly before Sabrina's face. She's cornered against a bank of pipes. FREDDY You trying to bargain with me, bitch? SABRINA I know where Jason is. Just please don't hurt me. The Shape rises and begins a stealthy walk towards them. FREDDY All right... He gazes into her eyes. Sees Michael coming up at his back. Freddy spins and savagely backhands the Shape, knocking him into a steam cloud! Sabrina tries to get around Krueger. He slams her against the pipes. FREDDY Let's go. He rakes the finger knives over her forearm. CUT TO: EXT. LOST RIVER MARINA Sabrina cries out in pain, waking up in Tara's arms! TARA Holy shit... Freddy stands before the water-soaked girls, backlit by floodlights. FREDDY Mmm, two wet dreams at once. Tara motions for him to look back. FREDDY Whatever. Jason grabs Freddy's sweater and turns him around to face the mask. Freddy slashes away from him. Tara & Sabrina make a break for it. Freddy and Jason face each other for the last time on a concrete pad in front of the angular office building. They're lit up like the contenders in a title match. Krueger leaps into his opponent, landing a dozen lightning fast blows with the claws. Jason throws a punch; misses. Freddy rams the knives into his throat and tosses him across the pad. FREDDY Slow learner, ain't ya retard! You CAN'T BEAT ME!! Jason begs to differ. He lands a blow to Freddy's chest, propelling him into a rack of scuba tanks. Freddy sits up and eyes the rack with a familiar grin. FREDDY Yeah! A shadow passes over him. He looks up just in time to get clobbered by one of the tanks. Jason discards it and hurls Krueger over the rack, onto the docks. Shoving the rack aside, Jason continues his pursuit. Freddy passes several boats before spotting what he's after. He hefts an anchor over his head, grunting, as Voorhees approaches. FREDDY Catch! He launches it with inhuman force, hitting Jason square in the face. He goes down and the anchor smashes through the dock, dragging its chain behind it- - Jason catches the end of the chain. FREDDY Huh? The masked maniac (with a huge crack now running through said mask) rises, lifting the anchor, SWINGING it over his head in a fearsome arc. He nails Freddy in the ribs! The dream stalker flies into the motorboat. Jason walks forward with the anchor still swinging, taking out huge chunks of the boat's cabin as he draws closer. Freddy lays low, peppered with debris, gasping for breath. Jason suddenly releases the chain. The anchor sails out over the water. He's spied Tara & Sabrina cowering behind a lightpole. SABRINA Run! They race the length of the docks, coming to a ten-foot, chain-link fence at the end of the property. TARA You go first. There's no arguing with her. Sabrina gets a boost and ascends the fence. Jason is getting close. Sabrina reaches the top, stretches her arm down. SABRINA Take my hand! TARA Just go already! She starts to climb on her own. Freddy gets out of the boat and sees what's happening. A devious smile spreads across his ugly face. Jason grabs Tara's ankle. Still at the top of the fence, Sabrina fights for her friend. SABRINA I've got you! TARA Let go, Brin! WIDE - Freddy leaps through the air, cutting through a lightpole as if it were nothing. The pole tilts, spitting sparks, and falls toward the fence. SABRINA OH MY GOD TARA! Tara looks back. Sees the pole coming down. She grabs Sabrina's foot and shoves her over the fence. The pole hits the fence and sends a lethal charge through the links. The electricity courses through Tara and into Jason. His eyeholes light up likes flares. Jason jerks back, leaving Tara to fry, and falls in a smoking heap on the dock. Freddy waves through the fence at Sabrina. FREDDY Here I come, bitch! A police cruiser smashes through the marina gates, crossing the concrete pad and rumbling onto the dock! SABRINA Thank God. Michael gets out. SABRINA Fuck. Freddy turns to see the Shape. FREDDY Fuck. Michael begins his stalker's stride toward Freddy. Krueger is ready to take him on when Jason shoves him aside. Freddy plummets into another boat. Jason raises his palm to block Michael's first stab. The knife plunges straight through it. He twists his hand away, taking the weapon from Myers, and then shoves the knife into Michael's gut. Michael pulls the blade free, loosing a gout of blood. He slashes Jason from groin to gullet. Jason grabs Michael's collar and head-butts him. Blood spurts from the Shape's nostrils. Michael BURIES the butcher knife in Jason's eye socket! Voorhees staggers back, wrenching the knife free just as Freddy revives. Plunging his hand into the water, Krueger comes up with a boat propeller and flings it into Michael's chest. Myers has never taken a hit like this before. He tugs at the enormous propeller, causing still more blood to spray from his wounds. Freddy climbs onto the dock. Michael loses the propeller and readies his knife. Jason flips open the utility box on the rear of a yacht. Produces a pristine MACHETE. Freddy now stands between the two silent slashers. He extends his left hand, and a set of BONE CLAWS sprouts from his fingertips. FREDDY I fuckin' dare ya. They both attack! The icons are locked in a vicious three-way battle across the docks, blade meeting blade and bone in fiery collisions that light their frenzied faces. Freddy blocks Michael's blade with his finger knives. He turns and rakes the bone claws across Jason's thigh. Catches the machete in his shoulder. Krueger twists Michael around so that he is now caught in the middle. The Shape stabs Freddy in the chest and turns to slash Jason's throat. Both masks are stained red with gore. Jason lands an uppercut in Michael's ribs, launching him straight UP into the air and allowing Jason to skewer Freddy. Michael lands behind Jason and rams the knife through his ankle. Jason buckles. Freddy steals the machete and gashes the back of Voorhees's head. Myers shoves Jason out of the way, sticking Freddy again and again. Krueger tries to block with the machete, and draws blood from Michael's wrists, but there is no stopping the Shape. Michael grabs the machete and slashes Freddy with BOTH blades! Freddy doubles over, vomiting blood. He catches the machete just behind the ear, nearly taking off half his face. He stumbles away from Michael, trying to paste his cheek back to his skull. The merciless Myers just keeps coming. Jason's hands close over the blades of the loose propeller. He prepares to hurl it like a discus at Michael's back. FREDDY Ooooohhhh NOOOOOOOOOO- -!! The Shape turns and dodges the propeller - so does Freddy. It plows through the side of a boat, chews straight into the fuel tank, and the marina is lit by a massive fireball. A generous portion of the dock erupts into the sky, throwing all three of them back. Michael gets up first, blood running in thick, syrupy streams from his eyeholes. Freddy jumps on his back, mashing his face into the grass. Both slashers are near exhaustion, but well past the point of no return. Then the butcher knife pierces Freddy's back. Jason hauls him off of Myers and hurls him headlong into a lightpole. Michael turns to look up - the machete comes down and CLEAVES HIS ARM OFF. Myers stares in shock at his severed limb, and blood begins gushing from the stump. He crawls back from Jason on his remaining arm. Jason runs through his heart with the machete. Michael spasms, grabs at the blade...falls still. Jason leaves the machete in him. Krueger pops his neck and starts to get up. FREDDY Coupla fuckin' mutes can't wear me down. But Jason is upon him, dragging him by the nape of his sweater toward the burning dock. FREDDY No! No! NOOO!!! With the last of his strength, Jason throws Freddy onto the smoldering planks and prepares to do him in with his bare hands. Krueger's face is stricken with terror. It's over. Then the Shape materializes from the darkness behind Jason. Swings the machete. Jason freezes in his tracks. Blood begins bubbling from his hip...his waist...his gut...and he drops, his torso tearing almost COMPLETELY FREE of his lower half. The mangled ruin that is Jason Voorhees begins to crawl away. Michael fixes his red-eyed stare on Freddy. FREDDY I'll make you wish you were dead. I'll haunt your dreams for the rest of your miserable life!! Michael raises the machete one last time. His legs give out, and he collapses from blood loss. Freddy stares at the motionless Shape for several seconds, then grins. Jason lurches from offscreen, held together by a thread of muscle, and throttles Freddy; both bodies rolling off the dock and into the river. Freddy breaches with Jason on his back, gasping and hollering, flailing his arms madly. But Jason isn't about to let him slip away. He hugs Freddy in a death-grip as their heads disappear beneath the rushing water. Haddonfield's finest finally roar through the gates, summoned by the blaze. An armada of police cruisers, fire trucks and ambulances comes to a stop before the body of Michael Myers. DISSOLVE TO: EXT. MARINA - LATER Standing on the other side of the fence, Sabrina watches as Myers is loaded onto a stretcher. An EMT places his severed arm in a plastic bag. There's a chance it can still be reattached. She doesn't even react as an officer comes up behind her, wrapping a blanket around her shivering form. DISSOLVE TO: INT. AMBULANCE Sabrina watches the dock burn down while an EMT looks at her cuts & bruises. SABRINA Where does the river go? EMT Hmm? SABRINA Where does the river go? EMT The Atlantic? She nods dully as he sponges off her forehead. SABRINA Springwood...Crystal Lake...home. The doors close on her, and the ambulance pulls away from the water. FADE TO: ENDING #1 INT. ANOTHER AMBULANCE Michael's body jostles back and forth as it's tended to by paramedics. ZOOM IN on the bloodied mask... Freddy's laugh echoes. Michael's eyes open. Four razor-sharp claws sprout from his good arm. FADE TO BLACK. ENDING #2 EXT. CRYSTAL LAKE - NIGHT Jason, healed up and well-rested, wades through the water with Freddy's corpse in tow. We are back in Jason's mind-bog...and he is plodding towards the reconstructed shack on the hill. It begins again. The immortal enemies will do battle once more. FADE TO BLACK. ENDING #3 INT. AMBULANCE Sabrina looks at her bruised hands and fights back tears. Suddenly, she is thrown to the floor as the vehicle squeals to a halt. EXT. AMBULANCE - NIGHT She gets out to see the driver and his partner staring in horror at the other ambulance ahead of them...lying on its side, the back doors hanging open. Blood dripping from the interior. EMT He's gone. He's gone. Sabrina turns in fear and scans the dark horizon. He could be anywhere...watching her right now. The Shape's labored breathing rises over the soundtrack. FADE TO BLACK. FREDDY VS JASON VS MICHAEL
